Upbeat theme music, colorful animations, and four gleefully dancing dogs are the first things you will see in the first 24-second opening sequence of the animated show Bluey. At first glance, you will think that it is a typical preschool show. As you watch the whole episode, you will realize it is much more than that. Bluey has gained over 10 million viewership in the past couple of years. This statistic is not only from children but also grownups. The reason behind this is because of its powerful premise – the importance of imaginative play and a supportive family. The animated series touches upon real experiences, which are barely presented to children and are handled in a light and comforting way. The show's success led to its expansion to many forms of media, including a stage adaptation called Bluey's Big Play that has become a must-watch for young people and the young at heart. See the show at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium this January 7. Get your tickets now!
Bluey is today's most popular children's animated show. It is fun, with adorable characters and timely educational content. Children enjoy it for its cheerfulness and full use of imaginative creativity. But it is not only the young ones that the animated series have garnered attention from; parents and young adults also have grown to like its premise. It is a lesson about parenting and growing up, as much as it is about childhood. Fans of the show will be delighted as Bluey returns to the stage for the second time in North America with Bluey's Big Play—a theatre show about the adventures of Bluey and her family.
Bluey is an Australian children's TV show that first aired in 2018. In its five years of run, the show has won an Emmy in the Preschool category in 2020. Internationally, it airs on Disney Junior, Disney Channel, and Disney+.
The show stars Bluey, a jolly Heeler puppy. Episode by episode, she goes on a lesson-filled adventure alongside her sister Bandit, her mother Chilli, her father Bingo, and many friends. Its healthy presentation of a supportive family and learning through play are central to the series' plot. Bluey and Bandit learn essential life lessons through imagination and creativity. On the other hand, Chilli and Bingo foster an environment wherein the two pups grow adaptively.
The show has gained massive success, receiving 10 million international viewers and positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. As a result, the show has branched off to books, merch, and stage adaptations. In particular, Bluey's Big Play became its first theatre adaptation. It premiered in Australia, visiting 50 venues. In 2022, it expanded overseas and toured around North America. It will continue its touring in the US and Canada this year.
The stage show will feature puppetry, live actors, and extraordinary set designs. It will bring the magic that can be experienced from the animation series to the stage. In addition, completing the immersive experience is the music from the composer Joff Bush.
For all young and young at heart, see Bluey's Big Play to experience wholesome fun. It will be showing at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium this Sunday, January 7. You can now book tickets!
