For over two decades, the box office hit has been deemed unbelievable by experts in its tours in several countries globally. There's no doubting that The Lion King story is one that gets to people on different levels. Sure, the original film was aimed at kids, but it's a sad story to say the least. It takes a prodigal son style of path that has kept audience members in theaters at the edge of their seats watching this musical since 1997. These are mostly people who already know the story! It's amazing to think that the Lion King continues to pack shows on Broadway and across the world even though most people know how the story is going to end. That's exactly what's going to happen in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday 20th July 2025.
One of the things that keeps people coming back to this performance are the tracks. It's a pretty deep soundtrack with tracks about life, loss, and of course, Hakuna Matata. The current cast provides amazing renditions of these classics that people love. At the same time, the tracks helps weave the story together in this theater version in a way that keeps people interested. You may be waiting for your favorite song to come up all performance long, and those 4 minutes or so could end up being the most memorable part of the show. Who knows, you may even find new songs that you don't recall from the 1994 film. There is music that are unique to the theater experience. If you haven't seen The Lion King The Musical, you could be in for certain surprises. Even if you already know the original story, this particular experience is worth every cent.
